Caron United Mystery Scarf Crochet Along

This week Caron United published the third clue to the mystery scarf pattern.

This is the first time I’ve ever participated in anything like this. Each week you receive a clue by e-mail and based on the clue you essentially “choose your own story” and therefore choose your own pattern. There are a total of six weeks/clues.

I’ll be honest, I choose the pattern not based on the story but based on which one I like best. For some reason I haven’t been getting the e-mails (not even to my junk folder) so I’ll attach links down below to each week’s clue.

Here’s week three’s portion (this was option C):

And here’s what it looks like attached to week one and two:

Keep in mind, if you decide to join along, your scarf could look completely different than mine does right now. It’ll be based on what you decide to choose for your pattern of the week.

I’m using Red Heart Super Saver in Marrakesh. I’m not sure if they still make this color or not, but I love it. I’ve had it for years and was originally making a granny square blanket but decided to frog it. Very pretty fall-ish colors.

I’ll be honest, I don’t love how this looks right now. I think part of it is because it’s just so random and doesn’t really seem to flow, but mostly it’s because the second week was a square and it’s wider than the week one and three strips. After it’s all said and done I’ll do some type of border around, even if it’s just a single crochet. I think that’ll help straighten it out some. Plus, when it’s wrapped around my neck it won’t be all that noticeable.

In case your curious, my scarf is 41 inches long after week three.
